Hindi Meaning

English Meaning

The King of the earth, the King of Drupada; the sons of Draupadi, and the mighty armed son of Subhadra, each one of them also blew their respective conchshells.

Commentary

Sañjaya informed King Dhṛtarāṣṭra very tactfully that his unwise policy of deceiving the sons of Pāṇḍu and endeavoring to enthrone his own sons on the seat of the kingdom was not very laudable. The signs already clearly indicated that the whole Kuru dynasty would be killed in that great battle. Beginning with the grandsire, Bhīṣma, down to the grandsons like Abhimanyu and others – including kings from many states of the world – all were present there, and all were doomed. The whole catastrophe was due to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, because he encouraged the policy followed by his sons.

Hinglish Commentary

Sañjaya ne King Dhṛtarāṣṭra ko bahut hi samajhdari se bataya ki unki bekaar ki soch, jo unhone Pāṇḍu ke putron ko dhoka dene aur apne putron ko rajya ka raja banane ke liye apnayi thi, wo bilkul sahi nahi thi. Sab kuch ye dikhata tha ki is bade yuddh mein poori Kuru vansh ki tabahi hone wali hai. Bhīṣma jaise dadaji se lekar Abhimanyu jaise pote tak, aur duniya ke kai raja bhi wahan maujood the, sabki kismet kharab thi.
